In order to contribute to improving the safety and security of digital information, scientists from the Institute for Military Science and Technology (Ministry of National Defence) have successfully studied and manufactured the USB drive with information security (VS-key locking). This is a specialized device for storing, backing up data safely between computers, particularly between computers with internet connection and personal computers.

Scientists from Integrated Circuit Design Research and Education Center (ICDREC) have succeeded in researching, designing and making HF RFID chip, card and reader through proceeding national science & technology project “Designing and making RFID chip, card and reader and building up application system”, which helps automate in-out staff management, mutual property protection, data statistic to analyze and improve human resource management quality etc. In addition, this system is able to integrate more helpful functions which a line of high frequency (HF) chip is attached to payment cards, in/out controlling… and a line of ultra-high frequency (UHF) chip is attached onto goods.

Virtual assistants as Apple Siri, Microsoft Cortana and Google Now have been well-known in the market; however, Vietnamese users seldom harness them due to their lack of optimisation for Vietnamese people, not yet analysing and identifying the intention of user through user’s Vietnamese command. Before this fact, the authors of University of Engineering and Technology, Vietnam National University in Hanoi have developed a "virtual assistant" application for the Vietnamese with the name VAV (Virtual Assistant for Vietnamese).

Scientists from the University of Engineering and Technology (Vietnam National University, Hanoi) who have studied and manufactured the signal generator for air traffic control codes have recently been granted the patent for utility solution by theOffice of Intellectual Property of Vietnam. The product with the application purpose is to manage airborne targets; however, it can also be used to manage ground or sea targets.

Scientists from the Institute of Geology, Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology have released the Vietnam natural disaster Atlas, reflecting 12 forms of dangerous natural disasters in our country with the ratio of 1: 3,000,000 through the implementation of national project “Research on adding on, developing and publishing the map of natural catastrophes of the mainland of Vietnam based on the research results from 2000 to present” (code KC.08.28/11-15).
