Following the news of fake rice appeared in some Asian countries and it is likely to enter Vietnam, representative of the Food Administration of Vietnam calmed down the public concern.

Dr. Nguyen Thanh Phong, head of the Food Administration of Vietnam yesterday said that his Department has issued  announcement to calm down public concern proposing that rice business store owners should inform local authorities such as police, market management boards, people’s committees and health centers if they discover any unusual rice.

According to Dr. Phong , the Department and related agencies have verified the news and they will update the information to the public as soon as possible.

Dr. Phong refused the information that fake rice has ever appeared in the country since 2011 - 2012.
