VN, RoK boost cooperation in technology transfer

The event was jointly organised by the RoK Small and Medium-Sized Businesses Administration (SMBA) and the Ho Chi Minh City Science and Technology Centre (STC) under the municipal Department of Science and Technology.
President of SMBA Kim Dong-sun said the delegation of RoK businesses, working in the fields of ceramics, gas, environment and energy, wanted to survey the market and seek cooperation opportunities with Vietnamese partners during their visit.
Through bilateral exchanges, businesses from both countries would have opportunities to cooperate closely in the fields of clean technology transfer, human resource development and financial investment in developing this field, he said.
Bui Van Quyen, chief representative of the Ministry of Science and Technology in southern region DSC said the Vietnamese government attaches great importance to boosting the application of scientific and technological advances to production and business, as well as to receiving latest technologies from other countries.
The same day, STC and SMBA inaugurated the RoK Office of Transaction and Technology Transfer in Ho Chi Minh City, which aimed to assist the development of RoK businesses in the southern region and Ho Chi Minh City in particular.
In recent years, the RoK signed many cooperative agreements in technology transfer with Vietnam, as well as in research and training with the University of Technology and Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry./.
