Trial results in some localities which have the tradition of growing tomatoes such as Nam Dinh, Hai Duong, Hai Phong, Bac Giang have shown the quite high yield (reaching 45-48 tonnes/ha in spring-summer crop, 50-52 tons/ha in autumn-winter crop, and 60-65 tonnes/ha in winter crop) and good resistance to viral yellow leaf curl diseases, bacterial wilt. The VT5 tomato variety has been acknowledged by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development as a technical progress for the Red River Delta and Northern mountainous and midland cultivating regions (2015).
