Before the higher demand on positioning, navigation and control for the moving objects, scientists from the Nguyen Tat Thanh University have successfully studied and made a GPS/INS integrated navigation system.
The GPS/INS integrated navigation system is the product of the state-level project "Research, design and manufacture of 3D navigation systems used in high-precision control and monitoring of moving objects" (code No. KC03.15/11-15) with compact dimensions (length x width x height = 5 x 4 x 3.5 cm), weight of 100 g, INS update frequency of 500 Hz, GPS update frequency of 10 Hz, position error of 2.5 m including the static error (roll, pitch) 0,5o (RMS) and the error of action (roll, pitch) 1o (RMS). The successful integration of GPS and INS into a product allows to create a navigation system with higher completeness which can be applied in navigation control of vehicles on road, airway and aerospace.
