A study of technology on production of Ni-Cr-Mo-Ti dental superalloy for teeth restoration technique 2:54 PM,8/21/2013

Description:

Nowadays the demand for dental care is increasingly. To meet this demand, dentists have made a great process in using more aesthetic and safer materials in the oral environment. One of the effective materials is Ni-Cr-Mo-Ti superalloy, used for crown, bridge and jaws of porcelain teeth.

Ni76Cr14Mo5Ti4AlCu dental superalloy is equivalent to Talladium CE 0197 alloy which made in Italy possessing the content approximately 76%Ni, 14%Cr, 5%Mo, 4%Ti and microelements of Al and Cu. This alloy has melting temperature approximately 13800C. An alloy ingot was made by a popular casting technology  which is pouring into Cr-Ni-Mo-Ti alloy heatproof mould. Because of having low melting and casting temperature, alloy can be cast in  technology of low pressure or semi-solid.

By the researching, Vietnamese scientists chose materials and technology of melting-immersing-dissolving metals at 1420oC which has high melting temperature from 14530C (Ni) to 26000C (Mo) to make products with low casting temperature from 13500 to 13800C. Then, casting ingot into a metal mould to obtain austenit structure and Ni3Ti and Ni3AlTi strengthening intermetallics with thin scales and regular fine morphology possessing glossy bright surface such as platinium.

Over many years of research, the study has obtained major objectives on science and technology and practical application. It defined Ni76Cr14Mo5Ti4AlCu dental superalloy which has the most optimal element of Ni(73-76%)-Cr(16-17%)-Mo(5-6%Mo)-Ti(3,5-4%)-Cu, Al. This is the latest dental alloy of Vietnam, which has high mechanical and physical properties, and higher corrosion resistance in artificial saliva than the Italian dental alloy of Talladium CE 0197, and good processing property. The dental lab produced many sets of crowns, bridges and jaw of porcelain teeth for several dental clinics in Hanoi to inlay in people’s teeth over the years. It was appreciated to meet good quality in biomedical compatibility, to have high antibacterial properties, and an aesthetic beautifully white surface like real tooth.
