When the group started working on the software, they faced a lot of difficulty due to the appropriate programming language - VB.net was completely new to them. In addition, the building and handling software’s database were huge task, it needed a lot of time and work for gathering history and geography documents from 63 provinces and cities via books, newspapers, internet and also a great deal of works in evaluated, corrected and synchronized information.
After almost a month of hard working, the team has finished the first product with a simulation of Vietnam map interface with major information of the 63 provinces and cities across the country. But a lot of new ideas has come up from the original intent was to build a complementary tool for History and Geography studying for students , the group develop the software towards promoting country historical and cultural, which is not only for students but also for tourists . The tourist information ( tourist attractions , special dishes ) , the basic information about Vietnam , the multiple choices tests are added for users .
In addition, the dynamic memory features also allows users to manage and develop a database of software according to personal needs ... At the moment , the group has completed the software version offline for students and teachers , online software for tourists . In the future , the group hopes to create the English version to reach foreign visitors to discover and explore Vietnam , creating a useful handbook , convenience and diversity for visitors .
Currently, Hello Vietnam software provides abundant information about the diverse historical, geographical Vietnam as general information on Vietnam , large organizations that participated in Vietnam , historic of 19 Vietnam dynasties, chronology of major historical events of the nation , information on history , geographical features , population , administration of 63 provinces and more than 300 well-known tourist destinations and 200 dishes specialties of the region .
For user convenience in searching information process , the software provides tools to search by province , city , by specialty food , by tourist attractions , historical events search by year or the event name and making the tag suggestions when a user enters wrong . .Software has been won the first prize of Computer and Science committee Award and the third final national contest INTEL ISEF competent in the past in Hue .
