A freeze dried attenuated vaccine for chicken pox was developed using cell culture technology to replace that one produced using the chicken embroyonated eggs. The pox virus  strain C was cultivated in chicken fibroblast monolayer cells, the cells were harvested when the required virus concentration was achieved; the harvest was supplemented with an adjuvant; the vaccine was than freeze dried…. All the vaccine batches were developed and produced in the laboratory, the control of the vaccine indicated good results.
