: The growing area of tomato in Don Duong and Duc Trong districts (Lam Dong province, Vietnam) is approximately 4000 ha yearly yielding more than 12,000 tons of fruit. Based on the symtomatology and host range analysis, four viruses including tomato leaf curl virus (TLCV), tomato yellow leaf curl virus (TYLCV), tomato mosaic virus (TMV), and cucumber mosaic virus (CMV) were isolated from the leafs of disease plants and identified by DAS-ELISA tests. In three years (2006 – 2008), more than 1000 samples were collected and tested for virus infection. It was examined that virus disease was the main cause of severe harvest losses of tomato in this region. Mixed infection was detected on many yields, and the range and types of infected viruses changed from season to season. The aphid and transmission tests were also carried out, and the results showed that silverleaf whitefly (Bemisia tabaci) was the major vector of virus transmission.
