Public lighting technology using solar power in conjunction with the new model, modern, environmentally friendly, can change the mode on, off-time, seasonal been used in the provinces: Thanh Hoa, Dong Nai, Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh ...

The project "Building a pilot solar energy use associated with electricity and public lighting serve in Cao Bang" was piloted in New Urban Tham (City) from March / 2013 by engineer Hoang Van Long, deputy director of Industrial Promotion Center (Department of Trade and Industry) for all subjects. The project has installed 5 column LED, 90W power each lamp, the distance of 40 m, equivalent to a length of 200m.

After 18 months of pilot applications and through evaluation of the scientific conference showed, the standard brightness TCXDVN 259: 2001; initial investment costs but larger installations traditional power but takes no monthly electric bills; average lifespan of solar panels range from 25-30 years, the safety of the user. Features of solar power used by the LED power-saving, cost reduction, consistent with public lighting, not happening greenhouse and climate change ... Basically, the project meet the targets set.

Council for Science and Technology (Department of Science and Technology province) were conducted to assess project outcomes. According to scientific evaluation, with more than 2,000 lights replaced Sudium lighting currently used in the City of LEDs will reduce the annual power consumption to about 208 thousand KV. This is a promising model should be maintained and should be replicated in the province will help reduce the cost of materials, energy saving lighting in serving the public.
