Modern life has posed a lot of challenges for human health.  Age, busy work, stress, food safety and environment degradation have resulted in many diseases to people. Accordingly, the demand for functional foods, tonics and medicines as well as health care facilities is more and more increasing.

However, using many different drugs for the prevention and treatment is a challenge for many people; especially the elders whose memory are impaired and their children do not have much time to control the use of drugs of their parents.

Therefore, new technology solutions are required to assist people effectively in using medical facilities, especially using drugs every day to contribute to the treatment and the health recovery effectively.

There are many technologies to assist people in the use of drugs and treatment diseases in the world. However, they are limited features and price leading to it is difficult to access and use for Vietnamese people.

From this fact, a youth team from FPT University have jointly researched and successfully manufactured a new technological product in accordance with the need of Vietnamese consumers. That is "the smart electronic pill box"

 Structure of the electronic pill box:

- The Electronic pill box is designed cylinder with a radius of 25 cm. It is divided into 16 trays that numbered from 0 to15, in which from tray N0 1 to tray N0 15 are to contain 15 doses of the drug  respectively used for a week with 2 doses per day, and tray 0 is designed as an output of the drugs.

- Time, the number of times to take medicine and the drug dosages are set up in the electronic pill box depending on the intention of users. At the time of taking medicine, a message is sent to the user's phone, the needed dose would be present at the output, and the light and the speaker would remind them to take medicine.

- If you forget to take the medicine, a message will be sent to the patients to remind.

The message: "your family member has missed to take the medicine, please remind him/her..."

The product has been on the experimentation and gets very positive results.

With preeminent features, reasonable price and high commercialization, the smart electronic pill box will surely bring significant benefits for the community when it is put into wide applications and creating an important contribution to the protection and development of public health.
