Mr. Phan Tu Luong, Director of Lao Cai Power Company says that in 2015 Lao Cai Electricity authority strives to save at least 10% of annual energy consumption in agencies, 10% savings from consumer and 50% reduction in street lighting during peak hours, and 10% saved for other types of production.

In 2014 Lao Cai Power Company saved 25.48 million kWh by means of practical work, strict guidance of the leadership, and dedicated effort of all employees in the company.

According to Mr. Phan Tu Luong, Director of Lao Cai Power Company, to complete the power-saving targets, early every year, Lao Cai Power Company gets all its departments, units, and production teams aware of power-saving measures, given the targets and specific measures to monitor the implementation and to raise awareness of economical and efficient use of electric power.

Besides, Lao Cai Power Company focuses on public communication for power saving by disseminating all directives, power-saving targets as approved by of the Prime Minister, Ministry of Industry and Trade to all of its service points.

One of the successful programs is "Power Saving Family" throughout Lao Cai city with a total number of 20,000 registered households.

The Company has linked the program with other coordinated activities such as those performed by the Provincial People's Committee, the Department of Trade and Industry, the Department of Information and Communication, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the provincial Youth Union, Radio and Television, Lao Cai Newspaper, and provincial Women's Union. Besides, the company also organized the parade along the main streets, incorporated with messages on the radio and television, broadcasting on loudspeakers of the wards, extensive and intensive communication to every family.

With the implementation of synchronized various solutions, Lao Cai in 2015 strives to save at least 10% of annual energy consumption in agencies, 10% savings from consumer and 50% reduction of street lighting during peak hours, and 10% saved from other types of production.

For units in the electricity sector, Lao Cai Power Company sets targets to reduce the rate of power loss at 3.5%, limiting the use of large power consumption devices such as air conditioners, water heaters during peak hours from 18 to 22/24 hours and save at least 15% of the electricity used for administrative management.
