The VND600-billion Hanoi-Nghe An Beer Joint Stock Company, a member of the Hanoi Beer, Alcohol and Beverage Joint Stock Corporation (Habeco), is located along National Highway 1A, based in the Nam Cam Industrial Zone, about 15 kilometers from Vinh City in Nghe An Province. The company is a leading investor in the province, and annually pays hundreds of billions of dongs in taxes to the state budget while providing the central region with products featuring the traditional taste of the famous century-old Hanoi beer products.

Habeco Nghe An Deputy Director Dinh Le Anh said, “The plant is equipped with the latest equipment imported from Germany and Switzerland, while the complete production process is strictly meets ISO 9001:2008 and ISO 22000:2005 quality management systems.”

After five years in operation, Habeco Nghe An has proved to be a leading investor with a long-term commitment to investment in the region. The company’s production output increased from 30.37 million liters of beer in 2011 to 50.16 million liters in 2014, with its revenue growing from VND448 billion to VND847 billion and tax payment to the state budget soaring from VND162 billion to VND351 billion during the same period.

Since it began construction and production, Habeco has continuously highlighted environmental protection, seriously followed anti-pollution regulations and built a Standard A QCVN 40:2011/BTNMT compliant wastewater treatment system. Head of Habeco Nghe An’s Technical Department Tran Van Sinh took us to visit the company’s 1,000 cubic meters per day wastewater treatment system, the exhaust fumes treatment system and hazardous waste holding yard. Sinh said that wastewater was treated using technology that met Vietnam’s Standard A rating.

Deputy Director Dinh Le Anh said Habeco considers Nghe An as a potential market in its economic development strategy.
