The device is named Long Phung, height 2.5m, length 6m, wide 2.1m. The machine works by a conveyor belt with the scoop shovels attached which will pick the water hyacinth up and then drop them into the cutter. At the cutter cavity, the water hyacinth will be minced into small pieces, and then the rotating knives will push the water hyacinth to the squeezing machine. The cut – squeeze system is designed two times closed, squeeze the water hyacinth into small pieces which can be boxed for easy transport and turn into green manure in agriculture. According to Mr. Luyen, the machine can fish – squeeze 150 tons water hyacinth per day and can float on water surface from 60cm deep so it can totally work at the channels with interlaced water hyacinth at the Melong Delta. At early 2014, this machine is sold to an enterprise at Ha Tinh for 800 millions dong. “I’m thinking about making a second machine with the cost of less than 500 millions. Now that I had the necessary experience, I can quickly make one with low cost” – say Mr. Luyen.
