30 percent charge reductions makes surfing the Internet much more satisfying
With a powerful configuration, a sensitive touchscreen and a diversified “app store”, experts believe that the iPad will stay firmly on the throne of tablet products for a long time. The appearance of 3G version has increased the excitement of the existing community of “Apple fans” and those people who have touched an iPad  for first time in their lives.

VinaPhone proves to be the service provider that is the most “swift-footed” in the race among service providers to win Apple’s fan’s hearts.  In late 2010, the telecom service provider launched iPad service packages with big preferences applied to 3G users.

Quoc Minh, one of the “hi-tech players” in Hanoi, joked that he with the iPad it was love at first sight.  He then purchased a 3G version when it was launched into the market in April 2010. “I have yet to be bored with it and there has been no replacement so far,” he said. “VinaPhone has just announced some new preferences, especially, the charge of Mobile Broadband has decreased by 30 percent. It is so wonderful to surf on Internet these days with iPad”.

A recent survey conducted by VietNamNet shows that 90 percent of iPad users have purchased 3G integrated products, because the products not only allow users to enjoy entertainment, but when connecting with the domestic 3G network, the tablets will also effectively support users’ work.

Ngoc Anh, a student of the Hanoi Foreign Trade University, said that at first she bought an  iPad just because it looks like an iPhone and has a big screen. However, she has found out that the functions of iPad deserve its high value. “Now I bring my iPad to lecture halls every day. With the VinaPhone’s 3G connection, I can check the dictionary, compile documents, check mails or manage my fashion shop from lecture halls,” she said.

Previously, Mobile Broadband users had to pay 300,000 dong to use a capacity of 5GB, but now, with just 175,000 dong for an iPad service package, people can use up to 6GB of download/upload capacity on 3G connection.

The survey conducted by VietNamNet also showed that many Vietnamese businessmen now use iPads as their notebooks. Truong Minh Duc, Deputy General Director of a real estate corporation related that the iPad 3G that he received as a gift from his son who is studying in the US,  has been so useful to him. “I can do many things with my iPad. Especially, I can control my business from anywhere,” he said.

2011 will be the year of tablet and 3G service providers

A representative of VinaPhone said that in 2011, trading Apple’s products, including iPhone will still be a big task for the service provider. “We are striving to launch supporting products suitable to Apple’s products with reasonable service packages and service fees,” he said.

The technological trends of the new decade have become clearer with the appearance of tablets. The cooperation of high-tech products with integrated services, like the formula iPad + 3G will be the main factor in the race of bringing good services to users.

In foreign countries, the model of selling products associated with services has been applied for a long time. .Meanwhile, in Vietnam, this integration remains in its infancy. People have every reason to believe that 2011 will be the year, when Vietnamese telecom service users get more new facilities provided by network operators.
