With the financial support of the Commonwealth Fund of the United Kingdom, the first phase of “Supporting the development of solar power in southern Vietnam” (Solar Hub) will be taken place until March 2017. The program includes technical assitance for developing the preliminary feasibility study, measurement of solar radiation, and calculation of economic benefit of rooftop solar power system.

The Solar Hub project will collect data of existing systems to develop a database for providing solar power information to stakeholders such as governmental agencies, equipment providers, consultants and enterprises who are interested in solar power production.

A representative of the Commonwealth Fund, Mr. Andrew Holt said Vietnam will be one of the first countries who benefits from this Fund. The Solar Hub project will contribute to promoting investment from private sector on solar energy. Thanks to that, Ho Chi Minh city can become “solar power center” of Vietnam.
