Recently, scientists from Institute of Materials Science (Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology) has researched and manufactured successfully the rock drill with equivalent quality as compared to the same kind of products from industrial countries.

This is the first time this type of drills was successfully manufactured and tested in Vietnam. The drills are manufactured by the method of rotation and beating. Balls of drills are made of fine-grained hard alloy with high toughness. The drills have been tested in actual construction at Deo Ca - Khanh Hoa tunnel. The results show that the life of the drills reaches approximately 95% compared to the drills imported from the G7 countries and Sweden.
