The scientists from the Institute of Environmental Technology (Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology) has studied successfully liquid waste treatment systems by means of trickling biofilter improved natural gas supply IET-BF with capacity of 130 m3 per day through the implementation of the project "Research on building solid and liquid waste treatment systems at a group of 7 medical institutions of Dong Thap Province.”

Applying the method of biological treatments taken place in the tower with natural ventilation which helps users not to use the pump aeration (causeing noise and bacteria spread); get low operating, investment costs for not using air blowers and sludge circulation pumps as other technologies; not to be affected by power failure; take up no area is the advantage of IET-BF. The system was put into practice at 7 medical institutions of Dong Thap Province. The verification result of appropriate authorities shows the quality of wastewater after undergoing treatment through IET-BF system achieves QCVN 28:2010/BTNMT.
