10:15 SA,11/08/2016

Through the implementation of the project “Research into producing probiotic preparation containing recombinant Bacillus spores to prevent white spot virus in shrimp”, codes KC04.09/11-15, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Phan Tuan Nghia and his colleagues at University of Science (Vietnam National University in Hanoi) have successfully produced and tested the probiotic preparation containing Bacillus subtilis spores with antigen expression of white spot virus in shrimps (tiger prawn and vannamei).

Specifically, the research group has produced at pilot scale 20 kg of the preparation with the concentration equivalent to or greater than 5x109/g probiotic Bacillus subtilis spores expressing VP28 in CotB-VP28 form, and 10 kg of the probiotic preparation containing Bacillus subtilis spores with VP28 expression which stimulates immune response and protects 70% of shrimps from white spot disease.
