In response to the campaign on protecting and take care of the elderly people’s role and spreading the message of the movement “ Vietnamese use Vietnamese commodities” to elderly, the country’s leading dairy producer Vinamilk held seminars in the southern province of Dong Nai, the central province of Phu Yen, Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.

In the program, Dr. Nguyen Hoang Le, lecture of the Arm Institute said that by the health sector’s statistic, around 95 percent of elderly people have non-contagious chronic disease and over 70 percent of elderly must work for their living although they receive support from  their children and grandchildren ; just 25 percent of old people live on pension or social welfare.

Moreover, Dr. Le added that merely 5 percent of senior people are healthy while 80 percent of them have poor health condition and 15 percent of them suffer sickness.

Medical experts advised senior people should have proper meal to avoid mal-nutrition which leads to many other diseases; especially older adults should take daily vitamins and supplements such as Calci and Vitamin D, which are essential to building strong and healthy bones.

Also in the seminar, Vinamilk introduced its new dairy products specially for old adults

The program has attracted 3,500 participants
