A hi-tech blood filtering center was set up in Nguyen Tri Phuong Hospital in Ho Chi Minh City’s District 5 yesterday with 20 blood filtering machines to serve over 50 patients a day.

The center is located in the fifth floor of the hospital. It is designed under Japan standards with the most advanced dialysers.

In the first month, the center will be supported by five Japanese experts who specialize in training the hospital personnel.

In recent years, Nguyen Tri Phuong Hospital has cooperated with TUC Vietnam organization ( a member of TUC Japan) and the Japanese Society for Dialysis Therapy (JSDT).

Japanese experts arrived in Vietnam for survey and consultation to help the hospital to build a blood filtering center compliance with Japanese standards.

Before in 2010, the blood filtering unit in the hospital was established in Nguyen Tri Phuong Hospital with two dialysers and then the number of dialysers increased to 17. To satisfy the soaring demand, the hospital purchased more 9 machines and officially set up Blood Filtering Unit with more than 150 patients and 30 machines.

In addition, the hospital will provide training on blood filtering to medical workers.
