Increasing cooperation with Russian partner in space technology

On June 27, 2016, at the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology (VAST), the Roscosmos State Corporation for Space Activities of the Russian Federation, and VAST signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU)  to increase mutual understanding and expand cooperation in space technology. Roscosmos Vice General Director, Sergey Saveliev, and VAST Vice President, Prof. Dr. Sc. Nguyen Dinh Cong, signed the deal.

The framework between the Government of the Russian Federation and the Government of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, signed on November 7, 2012, on cooperation in studying and using space for peaceful purposes, the MoU between VAST and Roscosmos recognised the cooperative deal of mutual benefits in conquering space, applying space technological devices to peaceful purposes, and realising priorities for the two sides, including guiding satellites and related service technologies, observing the earth from the universe, discovering the planet and space infrastructure on earth, and promoting services on launching space devices.

To promptly realise the MoU, Roscosmos and VAST agreed to participate in carrying out joint projects, using sources from the two countries, implementing national projects and promoting the establishment of the Russia – Vietnam joint working group in terms of space.

VAST Vice President and Roscosmos Vice General Director confirmed that the cooperation between the two sides not only brings great efficiency for the development of science and study power of VAST and Roscosmos, but also makes practical contributions to socio-economic development in both Vietnam and the Russian Federation.
