A ceremony was held in Hanoi on August 29 to introduce the 2016 Vietnam Golden Book of Creativity, with the presence of Chairwoman of National Assembly (NA) Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan.

The event was also attended by Politburo member and President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee (VFFCC) Nguyen Thien Nhan.

The book honours 71 outstanding research projects and applications in the fields of natural and applied sciences, significantly contributing to the country’s socio-economic development.

Speaking at the ceremony, the VFFCC President Nguyen Thien Nhan said that 2016 is the first year creative projects by Vietnamese people are being announced in the golden book.

It is expected to encourage people, agencies, organisations and enterprises to actively respond to creative activities, propose initiatives and take part in scientific research and technological development in all fields in order to improve productivity and product quality as well as improve international integration, noted the VFF President.

Addressing the ceremony, NA Chairwoman Ngan appreciated the ‘Vietnam Golden Book of Creativity’ initiative, introducing outstanding scientific and technological creative projects and solutions among the public.

She expressed her hope that the book would inspire patriotism as well as encourage creation among Vietnamese people, contributing to the cause of national construction and defence.

The NA Chairwoman asked relevant agencies to continue to create more favourable conditions for branches and people from all strata, as well as Vietnamese expats to actively participate in emulation movements, promoting scientific and technological activities serving the country’s development.
