Survey finds new species

The Taylor's bug-eyed frog (Theloderma stellatum), an endangered species listed on the IUCN Red List, and Yellow-spotted Spadefoot Toad, a species endemic to Viet Nam, were found during the survey.

Several endangered species of mammals such as the Gibbon (Nomascus sp.) and Northern pig-tailed macaque (Macaca leonine) were also found and recorded.

The preliminary results of the survey, which began on May 24 in the province's Ba To District, is one of the first sources of biodiversity information in the mountainous area, the organisation said. — VNS
