The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) is warning people with allergy to almonds not to consume the Lotte brand Choco Pie as the product may contain almonds which are not openly declared on the label.

After the news was released publicly, Tran Quang Trung, head of the Vietnam Department of Food Administration, said on July 12 that his department had checked all imported confectionary products and found that the Canadian or foreign made Choco Pie had not been certified for circulation in the country.

Trung said that all Choco Pie being sold in Vietnam is produced by Bibica Confectionary Company in Bien Hoa City in the southern province of Dong Nai.
