University to host integrated circuit design competition
2:07 CH,31/05/2012

The contest this year, themed Design and Layout of the Switching Regulator, promotes analog IC design activities among students and the training of engineers in analog design to meet industry demand.

Participants will be offered free training to use powerful tools in analog IC design from the leading company Synopsys.

Students will participate in seminars about power management, analog IC design issues and trends of analog IC design worldwide, presented by major companies in the analog IC design field, including Singapore-based Synopsys Asia Pacific and the US Analog Device.

They will also have an opportunity to speak with experts in the field during the training and seminar periods.

The contest is an opportunity for students to learn about advanced technologies and dedicated tools in analog IC design, and to improve communication and presentation skills in English.

The contest will take place in Ha Noi, HCM City and Da Nang. The training courses and the final round will be held in HCM City.

Two leaders of each project team in Ha Noi and Da Nang will receive free transport, including a return air-ticket, and accommodations during the training and the award ceremony events in HCM City.

Analog IC design offers solutions for many basic issues of electronic devices such as power dissipation, temperature effect and speed of operation.

In addition, analog ICs provide an important solution of power management for current electronics equipment.

In Viet Nam, Analog IC market is growing rapidly and the industry requires more competent engineers. But the country lacks research in the field. The first AIDC-2010 contest was held last year.
