Electricity conservation: 2% capacity excess
"EVN SPC aims to fulfill and exceed 2% the energy saving target compared to the commercial power capacity and to accomplish the energy saving equipment advertising programs formulated by the Viet Nam Electricity", said Nguyen Thanh Duy, EVN SPC General Director.
He also shared the idea of thoroughly carrying out energy saving plans. Besides, there must be an agreement between the business units and the local administrative organs in electricity saving capacity.
Additionally, the corporation set a goal of enhancing the effective energy conservation in the entire electricity suppliers.
To accomplish the target, 3 solutions were established. The first measure was to have an efficient energy consumption and management. The second was to propagate and raise awareness of consuming and saving energy effectively. The last was to launch the energy efficiency projects, to apply the financial structure, to support business entities in energy conservation techniques and to complete all energy saving advertising planned.
Developing power saving models
Many power saving pilot projects were set up and they brought lots of positive results. The two typical models were "Energy Saving Cultural hamlet" and "Energy Saving Street".
According to Pham Dinh Lam, the EVN SPC's Public Relation Director, the development of those models was one of the most important goals in the corporation's energy savings in 2013 and the following years.
He also said that other local power companies associated with the Fatherland Front Committee, The Farmer Union, The Youth Union and People's Committees joined hands to mobilize the two projects." 80% households participated in the projects were assured to save up from 6% to 10% of the electricity amount consumed in the previous year and the whole hamlet managed to save up more.
Especially, lots of energy saving device such as compact lights and solar water heating equipment were installed. Besides, equipment security groups were established to check up frequently the public lighting system and other electrical advertising billboards.
Great response to Earth Hour Campaign
Earth Hour Campaign 2013 is taking place from 8.30pm to 9.30pm on March 23rd. EVN SPC’s General Director and Union Standing Committee encouraged the whole company to switch off unessential lights in response to Earth Hour campaign 2013. All staff participated in energy saving activities which include printing and giving Earth Hour flyers to their customers and hanging Earth Hour posters in the counters and public places.
