The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment plans to ask for an increase in budget spending for environment protection, by at least two percent, during the next session of the National Assembly.
This is on the agenda of the Ministry’s action plan for the second half of the year, which was announced at a press conference on July 18.
The Ministry wants to focus on curbing pollution, implement a wastewater fee as per a Government Decree, and propose measures to import scrap metal and old junked vessels.
A list of areas still scattered with minerals across the country will be made and national mineral reserve zones determined to tap important minerals. A plan will also be put in place to call for bids of mineral mines.
The Ministry will complete the draft amendment of the Land Law as per opinion collected from the National Assembly members and submit to the NA Standing Committee for approval during the coming sixth session.
