The Vietnam Food Administration, under the Ministry of Health, July 2 asked Department of Health in Ho Chi Minh City to provide timely treatment to workers and verify the cause of 200 poisoning cases in District 12.
Accordingly, HCMC health authority has to announce its investigation result publicly. Before, the city’s Department of Preventive Medicine took samples of meals for testing as well as checked the catering procedure.
The hospital in district 12 said most of workers were discharged on July 2 after treatment. On July 1, after having dinner with fried eggs, vegetable soup and fried cabbage at the company, 200 workers at Shin Dong Company in Le Van Khuong Street in Ho Chi Minh City’s district 12 developed belly pains, vomiting, diarrhea, and headache; even some of female workers fainted. All were taken to the hospital for emergency.
