Iberia is the largest peninsula in Europe, and is located in the extreme southwest of the continent. This peninsula is highly appreciated by geothermal potential.
According to scientists, every additional 1 km deep in the heart of the peninsula, the increased temperature 30oC. This heat is generated by the movement of the heat flow from Earth's interior, as well as the decay of radioactive elements under the crust.
An estimated 50 power plants around the world use geothermal heat to produce electricity. Underground energy was put up in the form of water vapor through heat treatment station to turn into power. But unfortunately there is never any geothermal power plant in Spain, the country located on the Iberian Peninsula with enormous potential for energy.
According to a group of engineers at the University of Valladolid, Spain, if geothermal Iberian Peninsula is put to full use, it can produce up to 700 GW of electricity. Even if only exploited at a depth of 7km underground, geothermal is also provided to 190 GW. At a depth of 3-5 km, the power source can produce 30 GW.
This amount of power can meet the significant demand for electricity in Spain. At the same time reduce the country's dependence on fossil energy sources as well as from foreign energy.
