Energy efficiency projects at the largest airport in New Zealand

Auckland Airport has announced a program to save energy cooperation between the airport with the owner of the business is leasing space at the airport. Auckland is the largest airport in New Zealand with over 100 stalls trading in large shopping malls.
Accordingly, Auckland Airport will invest approximately $ 3 million for the project evaluation and management of energy within three years, through the management of energy consumption of large customers.
The project set a target of 6 GW saving electricity, enough to serve the daily needs of 750 households annually. The amount of electrical power savings equivalent to $ 2 million per year and cut 1 trillion tons of CO2 emissions.
In the first phase of the project, energy monitoring system will be developed to help determine the level of energy consumption and energy saving potential could be in store.
Also during this period, Auckland Airport will work with 8 power company is hiring, to organize seminars and guidance to all store implement energy saving of activities including transportation, logistics and retail.
Auckland airport itself is also committed to using energy saving and efficiency in your office block. Results will be performed independently verified.
Executive director of the airport, said Mike Underhill said: "Airports are at the forefront in demonstrating the economic benefits achieved through the improved energy use efficiency between units for rent by, and the leasing partner ".
