Vietnam attends the World Water Week

From August 31st to September 5th 2014, Deputy Minister Bui Cach Tuyen has attended the World Water Week conference (WWW) with the theme "Water and Energy" annually held by Stockholm International Water Institute at Stockholm, Sweden.

There are over 3,000 delegates attending the conference from over 130 countries including ministers, government officials, non-governmental organizations, international organizations, universities and research institutes operating in the relevant fields.

The conference was organized to discuss and share experiences on the connection of energy, water, food, environmental protection, hunger eradication and poverty reduction in the implementation of 8 Millennium Development Goals and Post-2015 Development Agenda.

On this occasion, Deputy Minister Bui Cach Tuyen had a working session with Finnish Environment Institute of Finland about the cooperation of the project "National assessment on economic – social value of ecosystem services in Vietnam" sponsored by Finnish Government. The two parties agreed to complete the project document by the end of September 2014 to submit to Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland for approval.

On September 5th 2014, Deputy Minister will work with German Federal Enterprise for International Cooperation (GIZ) in Frankfurt, Germany on the cooperation opportunities for environmental protection and biodiversity conservation in general and the project “Ecosystem-based Adaptation (EBA)” in particular.
