Survey on Japanese technology treating solid waste to fuel for production

Receiving the invitation of the Kawasaki Heavy Industries Company (KHI) and the New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization (NEDO) (Japan), at the beginning of October 2014, the Deputy Minister of Construction Nguyen Tran Nam and his delegation will travel to Japan to survey, exchange experience on a gas-used incinerator technology to treat solid waste and generate heat used for the cement industry.

According to the environment specialists, Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City generates about 5,000 and 6,700 ton solid waste (garbage) per day respectively. The amount of industrial waste and hazardous waste generated averagely about 1500-2000 ton per day.

The current technology for treating solid waste in Vietnam is mainly Landfill. Therefore, a solid waste treatment system with its high technology and accordance with the Vietnam’s situation is one of the most concerns of the Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung and the relevant ministers, sectors has been asked for proposal of the technology.
